ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Malu was born in Santa Barbara, California, surrounded by coastal beauty and a family who loved stories. She grew up between the U.S. and Mexico, drawing inspiration from both cultures and from her mother’s childhood adventures and her father’s passion for reading. These influences shaped her love of writing, which blends fiction, fairy tails, fantasy, fables, folktales with a little mystery, and history. Now living in California with her husband, two sons, two dogs, and two tortoises, Malu continues to create children’s stories inspired by the magical moments of her life.
THE BEGINNINGS
My love for storytelling was nurtured by my mother’s childhood adventures, which I eagerly listened to each night. Drawing from these vivid stories, as well as my own explorations, I became a storyteller in my own right. I continue to write with the same passion that fueled my childhood. I am currently working on my next children’s book, inspired by the magical moments and lessons of my own life and travels.
A DREAM COMES TRUE
I never imagined that I’d be writing and publishing my own children’s books, even though it has always been a dream of mine. It’s been a journey filled with countless hours of writing, research, and yes—many mistakes. The road was not easy, with hundreds of edits, moments of frustration, and plenty of self-doubt along the way. But through it all, I learned that every challenge was worth it.
With the unwavering support and encouragement of my husband and two sons, I pushed through and made my dream a reality. I am proud to say that despite the obstacles, I succeeded in bringing my stories to life.
